All products are made, developed and packed in Australia and formulated by Dr Phil Sheldon. Where we can we source organic Australian grown ingredients and each batch is tested to ensure it contains the optimum blend of essentials nutrients.  They are whole-food based which means all ingredients are obtained from whole food sources with no addition of synthetic vitamins, fillers or additives. All products are batch tested in Australia for impurities, contaminants etc, then mixed under our supervision in Australia. They are then inspected again and packed in Adelaide by us.

Most of all, Optimal Essentials is a family owned, family run company. We care about what we make and sell and the whole family uses the product range … and they work!

Why Powders?
As a nutritionist, Dr Phil lives by one rule: he doesn't do tablets.  You see, our bodies absorb less than 20% of nutrients from tablets...which means 80% is going straight down the toilet.   If you don't believe me, google it! It's simple; we absorb, we digest, we metabolise and we excrete. This only works well when we eat food.

The human digestive system does not really like getting its essential nutrients from synthetic tablets. Unfortunately, tablets do not always digest fully in the stomach. Sometimes they only digest partially as they pass through the digestive system.

We do not absorb or digest vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. We also don’t eat vitamins, minerals amino acids or antioxidants.  I bet that has surprised you!  What we do digest, absorb and eat is FOOD, which includes the myriad of nutrients that we need to sustain life and the more varied and better quality food, the healthier life we seem to have.

Consequently no ONE food has it all and no ONE food can do it for us.  Even if that food is supposedly sourced from the virgin rainforest of South America (if there is any left) or is a rediscovered seed, plant or berry revered by a long lost ancient extinct civilisation (perhaps they did not eat enough of it or they may still be here).  Seriously though, we all want the quick fix. Swallow a pill that’s got it all, put that rubber wristband on and you’ll have a new and better body, and the list goes on. So let’s get down to basics. Is it true that ‘you are what you eat’ and ‘are we as a civilisation digging our own graves with our knives and forks’? Probably, yes to both.

The level of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, amino acids as well as various fibres, pre and probiotics in our products are so extensive that we just can’t fit it all on the labels. Wheatgrass alone has Fibre, Beta-Carotene, Iron, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Phosphorus, Chlorophyll, Vitamin A ,Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Folate and the list goes on so we can quite confidently say that in Optimal Essentials Boost alone there are over 100 various nutrients.  So as you can see with so many nutrients in our products it would have to be a really, really big label or really, really tiny writing to get it all in. So take our word when we say our powders have got the lot.

That’s why I (Dr Phil) formulated my Optimal Essentials range - There's a product for everyone… and they’re all food-based powders… which are quickly digested and absorbed by your body. They can even be safely taken while on medication or during pregnancy as all ingredients are naturally food derived.  As a supplementary drink they are easily taken, pleasant tasting and quick to prepare especially when using our blender shaker. All of our powders are compatible so they can be mixed together if several formulations are required.

Optimal Essentials products contain NO nasties – only good stuff. NO gluten, artificial flavours, colours, preservatives, fillers, MSG, synthetic chemicals, sucrose, fructose, dextrose, cholesterol, yeast, peanuts or added salt. We never test on animals, only relatives! Certified organic ingredients are used where possible and there are no genetically modified ingredients.
